Makita 40V Max XGT 7

Jun 23, 2023Jun 23, 2023

Makita has several cordless polishers on its resume`, but the GVP01 is the first on its 40V max XGT line. XGT introduces some new technology to Makita's cordless tools along with a stronger power source. Take a look at how these features affect the Makita 40V Max XGT Polisher's performance and decide if it's right for you.

This polisher is capable of up to 2,200 RPM. It uses a constant speed control and automatically applies additional power under load. A variable speed trigger lets you use the right speed for the job at hand.

Additionally, a soft-start suppresses the start-up reaction for smooth pad acceleration. Plus, you don't have to worry about forgetting to turn the switch off when the battery dies. There is an anti-restart protection feature that prevents motor start-up when a battery is inserted with the switch locked on.

The XGT technology helps to optimize performance and battery life using digital communication within the tool. Specific to this polisher, Makita claims that it provides up to two times longer sustained power under heavy load applications.

This polisher comes as either a bare tool or as a kit, which includes the polisher, a 40V Max XGT rapid charger, one 40V Max XGT 4.0 Ah battery, a 7-inch backing pad, and a 7-inch wool bonnet. The bare tool retails for $330.99 and the kit runs $530.99. Tools and batteries are protected by Makita's 3-year limited warranty.
