Man, 65, accused of stealing power tools from New Hartford Home Depot | News | romesentinel.com

NEW HARTFORD — A 65-year-old man is accused of stealing more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from Home Depot, according to the New Hartford Police Department.

Police said Timothy J. Hajdasz, of Utica, was caught by store security trying to steal $1,300 worth of power tools from Home Depot on French Road on Saturday. Police responded to the scene and Hajdasz was taken into custody on one count of felony fourth-degree grand larceny, authorities stated.

Hajdasz was released on an appearance ticket for New Hartford Town Court for next month. Police said the theft and other similar thefts remain under investigation and additional charges may be possible.
