Metabo HPT 36V 1 1/8

Dec 18, 2023Dec 18, 2023

Metabo HPT is expanding its MultiVolt rotary hammer lineup to offer another 1 1/8-inch model. We’re taking a look at the Metabo HPT 36V 1 1/8-Inch Rotary Hammer to see how it compares to the brand's previous iterations.

This tool's brushless motor delivers 2.3 ft-lbs of impact energy, 950 RPM, and 4300 BPM to give you high-speed drilling and effective demolition performance. Metabo HPT tells us that the Reactive Force Control also stops the tool's rotation in the event of an overload to prevent sudden jerks.

Like most rotary hammers, this one offers 3 working modes: Hammer drilling, chipping, and drilling.

As far as ergonomics, Metabo HPT gave the DH3628DDQ4 a D-handle design to make drilling easier, especially for overhead and downward tasks.

Also, as a MultiVolt tool, you can choose to power it with either an 18V/36V MultiVolt battery or use the ET36A AC adapter (sold separately) for all-day runtime.

Metabo HPT offers another 1 1/8-inch rotary hammer, the DH36DPAQ4, which features similar specs but runs around $50 more expensive. Here's a rundown to compare the two tools:

This rotary hammer retails for $199 as a bare tool at your favorite Metabo HPT retailer. You can also find it as a kit, including an 18V/36V MultiVolt 8.0Ah/4.0Ah battery and charger for $349. Metabo HPT backs your purchase with a 1-year warranty.
